BTC Co continues to fulfill the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline with technical oil.
Around 570,000 tons of Azeri Light or 5m tons of cruel oil has been pumped into the BTC pipeline so far, BP, the operator of BTC CO, told Trend. 10m barrel of oil is required for complete fulfillment of the pipeline.
The first oil tanker arrived at Ceyhan port and was fulfilled into one of the oil storages in early September. This consignment was delivered to Ceyhan port from Georgian Supsa port to test the terminal and fulfill a part of the BTC pipeline.
600,000 barrels consignment was purchased by BTC Co from the partners on the Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC) producing oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil field. The value of the consignment was envisaged on the base of the average month Platts quotation for Azeri Light.
