During January 2006 the Russian Gazprom delivered 472,4 cubic meters of natural gas to Azerbaijan, the Azerigaz Joint Stock Company (JSC) told Trend. The company supplied Azerbaijan with 348 million cubic meters of gas during the same period in 2005. Such difference in the gas supply volumes is explained, first, by the fact that during 12 days of 2005 there were no Russian gas deliveries to Azerbaijan altogether due to the price negotiations.
Under the contract with the Russian company Azerbaijan will receive this year 4,5 billion cubic meters of gas at the price of $110 per 1000 cubic meters. Last year about 4,5 billion cubic meters of gas at the price of $60 for 1000 cubic meters was delivered.
