In his remarks to the opening ceremony of the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition and conference 2006 which opened in Baku on 6 June Saleh Bashoglu, the assistant to the Turkish Deputy Energy Minister, congratulated the Azerbaijani people with the first oil shipment from the Ceyhan port and announced that a solemn ceremony dedicated to the commissioning of the Turkish section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) will be staged at Heydar Aliyev terminal on 13 July, Trend reports.

Guler voiced his hope that the Azerbaijani gas will be transported to Europe via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP). Turkey will try to do all possible for the Azerbaijani gas to Greece and onwards to Europe and take every effort for fuel delivery to Romanian and Bulgaria, he underlined.

Turkey could be an energy bridge of these oil and gas projects. Oil from the Ceyhan terminal will be exported to different countries, in particular, to Israel and India, Bashoglu emphasized.

Investments by the Turkish company TPAO in the Azerbaijani projects will be increased from the current $2.2bn to $4bn, he assured.
