In 2007 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) does not exclude cut in oil export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline from 2.5 million to 1.5 million tons, the SOCAR told Trend.
It still depends on market conditions whether which pipeline will be used for further export of SOCARs oil. Transporting oil via the northern pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk, the SOCAR will receive in Novorossiysk Ural brand of oil. For the time being the tariffs for oil transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline are high, an official of SOCAR noted.
The SOCAR will define what is more profitable oil export to the Black Sea at low tariffs and receive Urals in the end or to obtain Azeri Light in the Mediterranean Sea. After the company will take relevant resolution, the same source underlined.
