Sumgayit station construction complete at 90%

Operations at one of 220kV stations erected as a part of steam and gas unit project for Sumgayit power plant are complete at 90%, Trend reports with reference to press service of Azerenerji AO.

Operations at another 110kV station are complete at 30%, Azerenerji officials said. Containers with equipment are being delivered to the station now.

The gas and steam unit construction project is estimated in E 257mln. The project financing agreement was signed with Bayern LB bank, Societe de General and BNP Paribas. These three banks issue equal credits (one-third each) for 15 years (first three years preferential) at rate Libor +0.55%. Under this project, it is suggested to install 107km long high-voltage power line. Besides, a E 30mln gas pipeline will be laid to supply gas to the plant.

Azerenerji AO ahs signed an agreement with Siemens for construction of steam and gas plant in Sumgayit. The contract stipulates turnkey construction of said 506MW steam and gas unit by Sumgayit power plant.
