Volumes of Azerbaijan`s Oil Piping via Baku-Novorossiysk Pipeline in December Determined

Azerbaijan is expected to ship some 330.000 tons of Ural crude from the Russian Port of Novorossiysk in December, 2006. The share of AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company) in the forthcoming shipment will make up 80.000 tons of oil, SOCAR 250.000 tons, Trend reports referring to a source in SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan).

According to a SOCAR representative, AIOC might increase the volumes of its oil piping via the pipeline up to 150.000 tons of oil in December.

SOCAR is expected to sell some 1.204 m. tons of crude oil from this Russian port in November, 2006. SOCAR is expected to ship two oil consignments in November the first consignment (either 584.000 barrels of oil (80.000 tons) or 620.000 barrels (85.000 С'РѕРЅРЅ) to be shipped on November 7-8, and the second one to be shipped on November 18-19 РЅРѕСЏР±СЂСЏ. Trader Glencore has won a tender on shipping the two oil consignments.

AIOC is producing Azeri Light crude oil on the field Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli and then exporting it via the pipelines Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Supsa, and Baku-Novorossiysk, as well as via the Georgian railway corridor till the Georgian Port Batumi.

Being an AIOC`s shareholder, SOCAR is producing and exporting oil from the field Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli, as well as producing this raw on other offshore and onshore areas at the expense of its own capabilities. In comparison with 2.559 m. tons of oil in 2004, in 2005, SOCAR shipped 1.631 m. tons of oil from Novorossiysk.
