ВР Launched Gas Supplying to BTC Pumping Stations

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S. Aliyev/ ВР Azerbaijan (the technical operator of "Shah-Daniz" Project) has launched supplying gas produced from an Azerbaijani offshore gas condensate field to pumping stations of BTC (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline), where the Company is the technical operator, a source in the Azerbaijani Government informed Trend. 1 mln. cubic meters of gas are piped to the pumping stations.

The gas piping to the stations will allow increasing the capacity of piping oil via the oil pipeline and bring it up to 1 mln. barrels per day. About 600.000 barrels of oil per day are presently carried via the pipeline.

The total lenght of BTC is 1,768 km with 443 km falling at Azerbaijan, 249 km- at Georgia, and 1076 km - at Turkey. Theare are 8 pumping stations on the pipeline - two in Azerbaijan, two in Georgia, and four in Turkey .

The gas production rate of the second well on "Shah-Daniz" currently reaches 6 mln. cubic meters.

8,6 bln. cubic meters of gas is expected to be produced on the stage of plateau within Stage 1 of the development of "Shahdaniz" field. 5,4-5,6 bln. cubic meters are expected to be produced from the field in 2007.
