Azerbaijan to Resume Operating Azerkimya’s Subjected Enterprises

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/ The State Company Azerkimya have resumed the output of its production. Trend was told by Azerkimya today, the Plant EP-300 has resumed its operations. The other chemical enterprises subjected to the State Company are expected to launch output of their production this week.

Notably, the Plant EP-300, Orgsintez and the Surfactant Species Plant are the largest enterprises of Azerkimya. It was on the decision of reducing prices of electricity, gas and naphtha of the country's largest industrial facilities, which was recently made by the Azerbaijani Government that triggered the resumption of the output of production of the enterprises of Azerkimya.

The decision on reducing the rate of the excise tax on the naphtha produced and then sold to the chemical enterprises gave an impetus to resume the output of the production as well. Notably, Azerbaijan's chemical enterprises receive naphtha from the Baku based oil refinery plant, Azerneftyag, which is a part of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan). Every year, Azerkimya's enterprises need some 300.000 tons of naphtha.

From now and on, one liter of naphtha delivered to Azerikimya to produce different chemical production will be subjected to an 8% tax, not a 19% one. The wholesale of one ton of oil delivered to Azerkimya by SOCAR will be AZN 210 (VAT and delivery inclusive).
