Aliyev / The agreement concluded with Russia on transportation of oil from Azerbaijan through Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline prevents pumping of Kazakhstan oil through the pipeline, a high-ranking official of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) reported on the 5th of June.
The agreement allows transportation of oil that has a certificate proving its production in Azerbaijan.
" Kazakhstan oil can be refined in Azerbaijan and transported through Baku-Novorossiysk as Azerbaijani oil," he stated.
Oil refining in Azerbaijani oil-refineries has to be increased in order to enable implementation of the project.
In addition, the oil transported from Kazakhstan has to correspond to Urals oil sort.
"Thus, Kazakhstan will not have loses and the implementation of the project will become possible," he announced.
