Azerbaijan Increases Light Oil Export

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / In January to April 2007 the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), which is involved in the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields (ACG), has exported 14.6 mln tons of Azeri Light oil, 6mln tons more than last year.

In April AIOC (excluding ExxonMobil and Devon companies) terminated oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk route and in the direction of Batumi port.

AIOC announced that in the first quarter of 2007 export had ceased via the Baku-Supsa (western route) due to repair work in the pipeline. In January to June 2006 a total of 3,541 mln tons of oil was transported via this route.

In January to June export via the Baku-Novorossiysk (northern pipeline) made up 696,800 tons against 2,008 mln tons in the first quarter of 2006.

Export in the Georgian direction to the Batumi port made up 749,125 mln tons of oil in January to June 2007, against 2,603 mln tons in 2006. During this period 13,117 mln tons of oil was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

In June oil export was ceased via the Baku-Supsa due to repair work in the pipeline. In June 2006 a total of 607,003 tons of oil was transported via this route.

In April AIOC (excluding ExxonMobil and Devon companies) terminated oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk route and in the direction of Batumi port. In June 2006 a total of 340,149 tons of oil was transported in this direction.

In June 2007 2.696 mln tons of oil was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, against 419,619 tons in June 2006.
