The capitalization of the banking sector of Azerbaijan amounted to 4.162 billion manats during the first eight months of 2019, which is 14.9 percent more compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA).
Deposits of individuals in August 2019 amounted to 8.457 billion manats. The fixed-term deposits of individuals increased by 79.7 million manats (1.5 percent), up to 5.437 billion manats. The fixed-term deposits of individuals in foreign currencies compared to the previous month increased by 24.8 million manats (0.8 percent), while the increase in deposits in national currency reached 54.9 million manats (2.3 percent).
The total deposits of legal entities amounted to 10.603 billion manats, which shows an increase of 30.3 million manats (0.3 percent).
Fixed-term deposits for the month amounted to 2.543 billion manats, which indicates an increase of 32.2 million manats (1.3 percent).
The balance capital of banks increased by 30.6 million manats (0.7 percent) and amounted to 4.613 billion manats.
