Gazakh cement plant, which is one of the biggest cement plants in Azerbaijan, intends to export another batch of clinker to Georgia, a source in the plant told Trend.

“The plant exported over 500 tons of clinker to Georgia during 11 months of 2019,” the source said. “We plan to export up to 700 tons of clinker and more to Georgia in 2020.”

“The plant is actively increasing its production volumes,” the source said.

“The plant intends to export products to more countries and in this regard is looking for new partners abroad,” the source said.

“In parallel, we are looking for partners in other countries of the region to minimize transportation and logistics costs,” the source said. “Iran is considered as a potential market for selling the plant's products."

The Gazakh cement plant is one of the biggest manufacturers of building materials in Azerbaijan. Besides cement, the plant produces concrete and clinker.

The production of clinker was launched on August 21. By mid-September, the plant reached 70 percent capacity, while in October - 100 percent. The plant will produce 2,500 tons of clinker per day or one million tons of cement per year.

The opening ceremony of the Gazakh cement plant was held on July 5, 2013, with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The design and programming of the plant were carried out by companies that are the world leaders in these spheres. The plant, provided with the most modern equipment, produces cement via the dry process. Some 700 people were provided with work at the plant, in which 250 million manat ($147 million) was invested. In general, the construction complex of the plant includes 49 buildings and structures.

A monument to Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev has been erected on the territory of the plant. A park was created here on the basis of the original project. Six-story four-star hotel with 56 rooms, with a total area of more than 4,000 square meters, provided with modern equipment and a 250-seat three-story dining room was built on the territory of the plant. The construction of a 69-room five-story administrative building with a total area of 3,400 square meters was also completed. A number of structures are being built on the territory.

A chemical and physical laboratory was created at the plant to regularly check the quality of raw materials and finished products used in the production of cement. The laboratory conducts chemical, physical and mechanical tests of gypsum, limestone, marl, clay, volcanic ash, clinker and types of cement.
