Nominal income of population ramping up in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10

The income of Azerbaijan’s population in nominal terms from January through May 2020 made up 22.4 billion manat ($13.1 billion), which is 1.3 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on June 10 with reference to the country's State Statistical Committee.

In the first five months of this year, the country's nominal GDP amounted to 27.5 billion manat ($16.1 billion), which is 1.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

According to the committee, GDP in the country’s non-oil sector made up 18.2 billion manat ($10.7 billion) over the reporting period, which is 2.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

Meanwhile, GDP per capita amounted to almost 2,759 manat ($1,620), showing a decrease of 2.5 percent on an annualized basis.

From January through April 2020, the country's nominal GDP amounted to 22.4 billion manat ($13.1 billion), which is 0.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.

The nominal incomes of Azerbaijan’s population increased by 7.4 percent in 2019 compared to 2018, exceeding 57 billion manat ($33.5 billion).
