Volume of deposits increases in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 27

The total volume of deposits in Azerbaijan in late July 2020 amounted to 22.5 billion manat ($13.2 billion), which is 0.7 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports on Aug. 27 citing a report from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The volume of deposits of non-financial organizations increased by 3.9 percent compared to July 2019, amounting to 12.7 billion manat ($7.5 billion).

As for the volume of deposits of individuals, there was a decrease by 9.4 percent up to 7.8 billion manat ($4.6 billion).

As of July 2020, deposits in foreign currency amounted to 13.3 billion manat ($7.8 billion), decreasing by 4.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.

There was also a great increase in deposits in the national currency, the volume of which increased by 9.4 percent compared to July 2019, reaching 9.2 billion manat ($5.4 billion).
