Value of investments to be made in Iran’s Hormozgan Province growing

The value of investments planned to make for the establishment of industrial enterprises in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 111 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Hormozgan Province, Khalil Ghasemi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Ghasemi noted that it is planned to invest 992 billion rials (about $23.6 million) over the reporting period.

“A total of 981 enterprises were licensed for establishment within 6 months. Of these, 271 enterprises will be established in the center of the province and 710 in the province’s counties,” he added.

The chairman stressed that as many as 4,068 people will be employed with the launch of these enterprises.

According to Ghasemi, the licensed enterprises for establishment will operate in the areas of steel production, refining of oil products, production of chemicals, non-metallic mining materials, food products, furniture, shipbuilding and etc. These enterprises will be established mainly in Bandar Abbas, Hajjiabad, Minab, Parsian, Jask, Bandar Lengeh and Bastak counties.

The chairman said that Hormozgan Province ranks third in Iran in terms of issuance of licenses for the establishment of enterprises.
