Foreign exchange reserves value down in Kazakhstan month-on-month

The gross international reserves of Kazakhstan’s National Bank amounted to $33.5 billion in Oct. 2020, bank’s preliminary data said, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank.

According to the data, the value of country’s international reserves decreased by 0.6 percent compared to last month and increased by 15.97 percent more than as of the end of 2019.

“International reserves overall, i.e. including the foreign currency denominated assets of the National Fund ($56.3 billion) equaled $89.9 billion as at the end of Oct. 2020,” the report said.

Net foreign exchange reserves of Kazakhstan also decreased by 0.61 percent in a month (increase by 16.2 percent compared the December 2019), and equaled $33.08 billion.

In turn, the assets in freely convertible currency have decreased by 1.77 percent compared to Sept. 2020 and increased by 3 percent compared to Dec. 2019, having amounted to $10.3 billion.

The country’s assets in gold amounted to $23.1 billion in Oct. 2020, which is 0.07 percent less than in Sept. 2020 and 22.89 percent more than as of the end of 2019.
