Azerbaijan discloses volume of funds allocated to liberated territories

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 21

Some 2.2 billion manat ($1.3 billion) is planned to be allocated for reconstruction and restoration of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories from the state budget for 2021, Trend reports on Dec.21 referring to the Ministry of Finance.

According to the ministry, these funds will be used for restoring and reconstructing cities and villages in those territories, creating there modern electricity, natural gas, water supply, communications infrastructure, reconstructing roads, building educational, cultural and medical institutions, reconstructing housing and communal services and other necessary infrastructure, as well as restoring cultural and historical monuments.

The total forecasted expenses of the consolidated budget will amount to over 31.1 billion manat ($18.3 billion), which is 855 million manat ($502.9 million), or 2.8 percent more than in 2020.

The territories were liberated from the Armenian occupation as a result of 44-day war (from Sept.27 through early Nov.2020)
