Deutsche Bank AG talks cooperation with Turkmenistan amid COVID-19

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3

Coronavirus COVID-19 has not affected the cooperation of Deutsche Bank AG and Turkmenistan, the bank told Trend.

“The banking services have not been interrupted and our cooperation with Turkmenistan has not changed due to the pandemic,” said the bank.

Furthermore, the bank added that however, due to the coronavirus, significant restrictions have been introduced all over the world, such as in international travel, and personal contact is much more limited.

“We are observing the developments in Turkmenistan and are in contact with relevant partners to identify eligible projects,” said the bank, referring to cooperation with the country.

As earlier DB’s representative told Trend, the bank has allocated major syndicated loans for ongoing diversification of Turkmen economy.

The bank cooperates with the Turkmen government indifferent spheres, said the representative of the bank.

"Deutsche Bank is a large international partner of Turkmenistan for handling import and export transactions across all sectors of the country's economy," the bank said previously.

German companies such as Siemens, Daimler, Claas, Rohde & Schwarz, Dresser-Rand, MAN, Bosch, and others make a significant contribution towards the implementation of long-term projects in Turkmenistan.
