Iran’s CBI discloses amount of loans issued in services sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 6.29 quadrillion rials (about $150 billion) in the services sector during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through February 18, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, 666 trillion rials (about $15.8 billion) worth of loans was issued for the establishment of enterprises and facilities in the services sector of Iran over the reporting period.

“Moreover, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 3.76 quadrillion rials (about $89.7 billion) as working capital in the services sector within the past 11 months,” the statistics said.

At the same time, the loans worth 123 trillion rials (about $2.93 billion) were issued for repair work and 1.19 quadrillion rials (about $28.3 billion) for development in the services sector, the statistics said.

According to the report, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 33 trillion rials (about $785 million) for the purchase of personal assets, 34.6 trillion rials (about $824 million) for the purchase of housing, and 481 trillion rials (about $11.4 billion) for the other purposes in the services sector.

Iranian banks issued loans worth a total of about 16 quadrillion rials (about $382 billion) in various sectors over the 11 months. This an increase of 96.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
