IMF shares outlook on Azerbaijan's natural gas export for 2021-2022

Azerbaijan will export 320,000 barrels (52.6 million cubic meters) of natural gas per day in 2021, which is 40,000 barrels more than in 2020, Trend reports referring to the Regional Economic Outlook report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the Near East and Central Asia issued in April of this year.

According to the report, in 2022 Azerbaijani exports of natural gas will amount to 360,000 barrels (59.1 million cubic meters) per day.

The IMF has forecasted Azerbaijan's GDP growth this year at 2.3 percent, and oil GDP growth in 2021 and 2022 at 0.2 percent.

As the State Customs Committee (SCC) earlier said, from January through February 2021, Azerbaijan had exported over 3.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 2.5 times more than in the same period of last year.
