Lending to public organizations in Azerbaijan drops

The volume of loans issued to public organizations in Azerbaijan decreased by 46.5 percent in the first 2 months of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the given figure decreased by 13.9 million manat ($8.17 million) over the year and amounted to 16 million manat ($9.41 million).

As reported, the share of lending to this sector in lending to the real sector amounted to 0.1 percent, having decreased by 0.1 percentage points compared on an annual basis.

Lending to the real sector of the economy in Azerbaijan for the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.58 billion), which is less than the same period last year by 1.08 billion manat ($635.3 million), or 6.9 percent.

The largest share of loans in Azerbaijan during the reporting period fell on households, amounting to 46.3 percent, or 6.77 billion manat ($3.98 billion), of the total volume of lending to the real sector.
