Export Development Bank of Iran to provide loans to startup companies

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11

The Export Development Bank of Iran provided about 2.12 trillion rials (about $50.4 million) worth of loans to startup companies over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Director of the Export Development Bank of Iran’s branch in Yazd Province, Majed Ghafouri Manesh said, Trend reports citing the bank’s website.

The director emphasized that this is an increase of 14 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020).

Ghafouri Manesh added that the Export Development Bank of Iran continues to support the startup companies to increase production and exports by providing loans at reasonable interest rates.

“The startups in Yazd Province (central Iran) benefited from loans of Export Development Bank of Iran in the last Iranian year. So, these companies received loans worth 921 billion rials (about $21.9 million) and 15 million euro within last Iranian year,” he said.

Ghafouri Manesh noted that the bank also provided loans worth 4.4 trillion rials (about $104 million) in order to support exports in the Yazd Province.
