The total volume of bank deposits of the Azerbaijani population as of September 1, 2021 increased for the year by 684.7 million manat ($402.8 million), or 8.7 percent, from 7.9 billion manat ($4.6 billion) to 8.6 billion manat ($5.06 billion), Trend reports referring to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Some 89 percent (7.6 billion manat $4.5 billion) of all bank deposits in the country accounted for Baku, while about 11 percent (938.7 million manat $552.2 million) – for the districts.
At the same time, 55.3 percent (4.7 billion manat $2.8 billion) of bank deposits of the population accounted for Azerbaijani manat, 44.7 percent (3.8 billion manat $2.2 billion) - for foreign currency.
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate throughout the country as of Sept.1, 2021, amounted to 3.43 percent, and in Baku – 3.29 percent.
