The balance of bank loans in Iran increased by 52.5 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
According to the report, the balance of bank loans amounted to 33.2 quadrillion rials (about $791 billion) in 5 months.
The balance of deposits also increased by 46.7 percent within 5 months, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the balance of bank deposits in Iran amounted to 45.4 quadrillion rials (about $1.08 trillion) over the reporting period.
The following table presents the balance of loans, foreign currency deposits of banks and financial institutions for the reported five-month period, according to the official exchange rate ($1=42,000 rials):
