By Nazrin Israfilova – Trend:
AzeriCard processing center will launch an expanded contactless payment system by the end of the second quarter of 2022, Director General of AzeriCard LLC Farid Guliyev told Trend.
"As part of the AzeriCard contactless payment alliance, we are developing new products with the help of which we will create opportunities for end consumers to pay for services, for example, government services, without physical cards. The system already works. We launched it in a pilot phase in 2019. Until the end of the second quarter of 2022, we intend to launch it in an expanded form," he said.
Guliyev noted that in 2022 AzeriCard will strive to introduce new payment instruments in addition to traditional business.
"These are contactless payment technologies. Different identifiers can be applied here, such as biometric data, state registration numbers of cars, etc. This is an important direction in our next three-year strategy. It includes the development of the Azericard contactless payment technology alliance and the creation of new payment instruments through the joint efforts of member organizations of this alliance," Guliyev added.
