Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Azerbaijan up

Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Azerbaijan in January 2022 amounted to $4.9 million, which is a 7-times increase, compared to $700,000 over the same month of 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

However, the revenues from Azerbaijani visitors to Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 decreased by 76.3 percent, compared to January 2021 ($20.7 million), and by 9.2 percent, compared to December 2021 ($5.4 million).

Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 7 among the main countries of origin for money spending in Georgia in January 2022, the report said. Meanwhile, Russia ranked first with $18.7 million, followed by Ukraine ($14.2 million), and the EU countries ($13.6 million).

Meanwhile, the amount of visitors from Azerbaijan traveling to Georgia in January 2022 totaled 7,221 people, which is an increase of 130.1 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (3,138).

Georgia’s total income from foreign visitors in January 2022 amounted to $114 million which is almost 14 times more, compared to the same month of 2021 ($10.4 million).

The total number of international visitors to Georgia in January 2022 amounted to 199,393 people, which is an increase of 471.2 percent, compared to 34,909 visitors over the same month of 2021.
