BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The Iranian banks issued loans worth about 29.7 quadrillion rials (about $707 billion) in various economic sectors in the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the figure stood at about 10.4 quadrillion rials (about $248 billion).

"So, the banks issued about 1.99 quadrillion rials (about $47.4 billion) worth of loans in the agricultural sector within the mentioned period," the statistics said.

Moreover, the banks issued loans worth about 8.98 quadrillion rials (about $214 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors over the last Iranian year.

According to the statistics, the banks also issued loans worth about 1.83 quadrillion rials (about $43.6 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector during the reporting period.

Furthermore, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 4.47 quadrillion rials (about $106 billion) in the trade sector last year.

At the same time, about 12.4 quadrillion rials (about $295 billion) worth of loans was issued in the services sector and 11.3 trillion rials (about $269 million) in other unmentioned areas over the last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
