BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. The volume of payments made by foreigners using credit cards considerably grew in Azerbaijan in August 2022, Trend reports citing the country's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
According to the center, this figure amounted to 214.6 million manat ($126.2 million), up by 109.3 million manat ($64.2 million) or 2.03 times on an annual basis.
From January through August 2022, foreigners made bank card transactions worth 1.5 billion manat ($882.3 million) in Azerbaijan.
In June this year, foreign citizens' expenses through credit cards totaled 203.6 million manat ($119.7 million) in the country, which was 155.3 million manat ($91.3 million) or 4.21 times more than in the same month of 2021.
