Iran’s imports from Tajikistan declines in value, rises in volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Iran imported 9,100 tons of goods worth $24 million from Tajikistan during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), Trend reports.

As indicated in the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the imports decreased by 3.8 percent in value while increasing by 17.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Thus, Iran's imports from Tajikistan amounted to 7,730 tons worth $25 million in the same period last year.

During those 4 months, Iran mainly imported cotton, silk fabric, various equipment, etc. from Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran imported about 1,460 tons of goods worth approximately $3.73 million from Tajikistan.

Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.

This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
