BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from the Netherlands to Azerbaijan stood at $6.9 million in the first quarter of 2024, Trend reports.
Calculations based on data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan show that this figure decreased by 92.95 percent year over year.
The share of FDI from the Netherlands in total FDI in Azerbaijan was 0.5 percent.
Meanwhile, FDI from Azerbaijan in the Netherlands economy amounted to $978,000 (a decline of 98.98 percent, and a share of 0.3 percent).
To note, FDI from the Netherlands in Azerbaijan amounted to $188 million, and from Azerbaijan in the Netherlands - $98 million in 2023.
FDI in Azerbaijan's economy amounted to $6.6 billion (6.1 percent growth) last year.
FDI is a type of cross-border investment in which an investor from one economy develops a long-term interest in and a substantial degree of control over an enterprise from another economy.
