Babayeva / There are a lot of foreign companies willing to work in Azerbaijan's mobile network market, though four mobile operators is sufficient for 8.5mln population, Azerbaijani Communications & IT Minister, Ali Abbasov, said at the opening ceremony of a new building of School 270 in Baku's Surakhany district on 15 September.
The mobile network operators in Azerbaijan work in compliance with GSM and one - CDMA.
According to the Minister, Azerbaijan has a problem in frequency spectrum for its restricted. Introduction of new wireless communication technologies is supported. "We try to meet the communications demands of the population," he said.
The mobile operators in Azerbaijan meet the demand of the market, but Abbasov believes in order to remove network failures and overloading the operators should increase the number of base stations.
"Each second person in Azerbaijan has a mobile phone. That is a rather high index," Abbasov said.
