Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Azerbaijan's Davachi region was included into the coverage area of FONEX mobile network which is rendered by CATEL JV on CDMA2000 standard.
The company also plans to include Kurdamir, Balakan, Ujar, and Agstafa regions.
Ten new stations were put into operation in order to improve network in Baku.
FONEX is a trademark presented by CATEL in Azerbaijan's mobile network market in April 2007. FONEX coverage area includes Baku, Sumgayit, the Absheron Peninsula, Ganja, Shamkir, Ali-Bayramli, Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Nabran, and Davachi.
FONEX covers 30% of Azerbaijan (excluding the occupied territories). In near future FONEX will cover northern and southern regions.
CATEL plans to provide the network for all regions of the country, to expand the line of sale and service offices.
