Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 April / Trend corr S. Babayeva/ The telephone system all over Baku will be electrified by the end of the year, Elmir Valizade, the Deputy Communications and IT Minister of Azerbaijan, said in the internet forum of ANSPRESS.
According to Valizade, the level of telephone system electrification is now 84.8%, and in the regions it is 74.5%. Electrification all over the country makes up 79.7%.
Until today, the telephone system of 22 regions has been electrified. In the first quarter, electrification in the country rose by 0.3%, 5,981 telephone numbers were put into operation (4,080 numbers by the Ministry). In the reconstruction of the telephone systems NGN (Next Generation Network) is preferred.
According to the Ministry, in the first quarter of 2008, there were 15.07 stationary telephones to every 100 people, in Baku 33.8 and in other regions 9.7.
