Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 September / Trend , corr S. Babayeva/ Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Azerbaijan will install telephones in Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasraddin Tusi at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and will connect it to the speedy internet, said the decree by the Azerbaijani President, press service of the Ministry reported.
The decree signed to reconstruct the observatory took effect on 5 September.
The decree stresses the role of the observatory in strategic cosmic studies and development of science in Azerbaijan and establishment of cosmic industry in the republic.
Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasraddin Tusi was established in 1960 on the basis of the sector of Astrofizika Institute of Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. Observatory is involved in comprehensive studies of non-stationary processes on the stars, physics of the sun and sun-earth connections, physics and dynamics of the bodies of the Sun system. It has a staff of 150 people.
