According to the Analysis Centre Avesta Research, a number of mobile subscribers increased by 29 percent to 15.8 million subscribers in, 2009.

At present, five mobile operators operate in Uzbekistan. They include: Uzdunrobita (provides services under the MTS brand, standard GSM), Unitel (Beeline GSM), Coscom (UCell, GSM), Perfectum Mobile (Rubicon Wireless Communication, CDMA) and Uzbektelecom(Uzmobile, CDMA) branch of Uzbektelecom Mobile.

The largest operator MTS Uzbekistan has increased its subscriber base by 25.3 per cent - to 7.07 million subscribers, UCell - at 89.1 percent, to 5.07 million, Perfectum Mobile - by 12,9 percent to 300,000, UzMobile - in 1,5 times, up to 35,000 users. According to the Avesta Research, the client base Beeline declined at 8.5 percent - to 3.33 million.

As a result of 2009, share of MTS Uzbekistan at the mobile communication market on subscribers' number decreased to 44.8 percent compared to 46.1 percent a year earlier, the share of Beeline declined to 21.1 percent from 29.7 percent, the share of CDMA-operators reduced to two percent from 2.3 per cent. At the same time UCell increased market share to 32.1 percent from 21.9 percent in 2008.

According to Analysts Avesta Research, by the end of the year subscriber base can amount to 25 percent or 69.5 per cent of the population - to 19.7 million users.
