Azerbaijani Internet provider launches IP-TV

Azerbaijani Internet Service Provider Ultel company launched IP-TV, the company said.

Today, the company broadcasts about 71 channels, including Russian, Turkish and local ones.

The fee is 10 manat per month. The connection costs the same amount.

User's equipment Set-Top-Box is required for this service.

Bandwidth of 1 Mbps is required for full streaming video.

The company seeks to gain a competitive advantage over other providers by combining broadband Internet and television in one package.

The main advantage of IP-TV is interactive video services and availability of a wide range of additional services (Video on Demand (VoD), TVoIP, Time Shifted TV, Network Personal Video Recorder, Electronic Program Guide, Near Video on Demand). IP can provide video services, as well as a package of interactive and integrated services.

Utility VideoLan (VLC Media Player), which combines the functions of media player that can play a large number of audio and video formats without installing additional codecs, is required to view the streaming video. VLC Media Player can play DVD and streaming unencrypted video (IPTV) and internet radio. The program can record streaming audio / video on computer. The main feature of VLC Media Player is less consumption of resources.
