Azerbaijan, Baku, April 8 / Trend H.Valiyev /

Azerbaijan will continue to participate in the development of proposals by the communications administrations of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC) for the World Radio Communication Conference (WRC-12) and the Radio communication Assembly (RA-12) in 2012, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry's State Radio Frequencies Administration reported.

The proposals will be discussed during the seventh meeting of the working group in preparation for holding these events in Uzbekistan on April 11-15.

Mehdi Agagulov, Chief of Radio Frequency Administration's Coordination and International Relations Department, and Secretary of the Administration's Working Group Salman Huseynov will represent the country at the event.

Azerbaijan supports the equitable distribution of frequency resources among Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC) member countries, Agagulov told Trend earlier. This question has become important in recent years. Today Azerbaijan, like other RCC member states, hopes for the equitable distribution of frequency assignments and satellite orbits between the RCC and European Organization for CEPT member states.
Azerbaijan also supports the process of defining international legal mechanisms for reviewing appeals for geostationary satellite positions for "paper satellites."

The service's chief engineer, Ilham Efendiyev, told Trend earlier that the practice of "paper satellites" in the development of geostationary orbit satellite slows down the process of efficient and effective use of the orbit and violates the principle of equal access to it.
