Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug.27 / Trend, H. Valiyev /

Aztrank company plans to begin rendering mobile services in CDMA standard, Aztrank CEO Alikhan Mammadov told Trend on Saturday.

Mammadov said the company intends to appeal to the Communications and IT Ministry for a license to deploy mobile CDMA service.

At present, Aztrank renders fixed wireless CDMA service under index 437.
CDMA operator network covers Baku, Sumgayit and Absheron Peninsula. The company intends to cover the network also at the regional level in the future.

In connection with the reorganization of AzEuroTel communication operator Aztrank activity was temporarily suspended from early May to August. The company resumed operations in August based on a new charter.

"At present, our subscriber base is small and there are 600 subscriber numbers in operation in total. Number capacity increases as the number of subscribers to our services increase," Mammadov said.

With regard to user devices, as Mammadov said, in the near future it is expected to sign a contract with Chinese HuaweiTechnologies to supply telephone sets.
