A prototype of the smartwatch, called Braille Watch, for people with visual impairments will be presented by the end of May, Sayad Ibrahimov, head of BrailleX, told Trend.

Ibrahimov added that two functions to be included in the final product will be implemented in the prototype, namely, the functions allowing feeling Braille dots at different hour points and reading messages.

“The smartwatches are expected to be produced after additional funds are raised,” he said. “The work to develop software for the smartwatches has been fully completed.”

He said the smartwatch will be sold at an affordable price.

Notifications about obstacles on the user’s path will be one of the important features of the smartwatch. The smartwatch will also have blood pressure and heart rate measurement functions.
