Turkmenistan is in talks with international companies on the lease of transponders of TurkmenAlem 52E, Turkmenistan’s first telecommunications satellite, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported Feb. 9.

The Turkmen Hemrasy CJSC is installing teleport equipment - a set of communication systems, with the help of which the radio signal is converted and transmitted to the satellite through the Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) channels.

Using this ground equipment provided by companies of Europe, the US and China, it will be possible to transfer or retransmit many types of services.

“The equipment allows multiplexing, modulation of satellite channels and retransmission using a Ku-band antenna, which improves the efficiency of this resource by almost three times,” said the report.

TurkmenAlem 52E was launched Apr. 28, 2015, from Cape Canaveral (Florida, US).

The satellite has three antennas covering dozens of countries in Europe and Asia, as well as the Middle East and North Africa.
