Azerpoct LLC, Azerbaijan’s postal operator, plans to create own e-commerce platform, a source in the company told Trend.

Negotiations on implementation of the project are underway with companies from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan that offer services for creating e-commerce platforms, the source said.

“The creation of an e-commerce platform is included to the postal operator’s activity plan for 2018-2020,” the source noted. “The plan is based on Azerbaijan’s strategic roadmap for the ICT development.”

At the same time, negotiations are also underway regarding Azerpoct’s possible joining the e-commerce project of the Turkish postal operator epttavm.com, according to the source.

“Presently, all purchase and sale transactions through the epttavm.com platform, as well as transportation and delivery of orders, are carried out within Turkey,” the source added. “We are in talks with the Turkish postal operator so that Azerpoct payment cards can be used for purchases through that platform, and that the ordered goods can be delivered to Azerbaijan.”
