Servers of popular social networks with personal data of Azerbaijani users may be transferred to Azerbaijan, a source in the country’s telecommunications market told Trend.
The source noted that similar steps are being taken in Russia, envisaged in the “Law on Personal Data.”
Azerbaijan is practicing the placement of cache servers of social networks, which allows users to instantly connect to content and download it much easier and faster. In this case, the traffic required for downloading the content is downloaded not from the servers located abroad, but directly from the servers installed in Azerbaijan.
This also makes it possible to save the traffic purchased abroad by using it more optimally.
