By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

The scientific achievements of Azerbaijani scientists have chances for commercialization, Chairman of Azerbaijan Robotics and Automation Society (ARAS) Bahadur Ibrahimov told Trend Sept. 13.

Ibrahimov noted that the vast majority of scientific articles of Azerbaijani scientists are dedicated to robotics and automation.

"In practice, as we know, any discovery originates from an idea that is brought to a certain level, patented and then passes on to the stage of commercialization. The procedures of commercialization of scientific achievements are almost identical, except that the ideas are initially published in the form of scientific articles, which are then discussed in international conferences. It is at such conferences that it becomes clear whether these ideas are profitable or not. After that the next step is their commercialization," Ibrahimov said.

Chairman of the ARAS society also touched upon the issue of holding the 18th International TECIS (Technology, Culture and International Stability) conference in Baku on September 13-15, which, Ibrahimov said, is of great importance for Azerbaijan.

"More than 200 articles of 370 international scholars have been presented at the conference which kicked off today. Some 50 articles have been presented by the scientific community of Azerbaijan. About 200 authors of articles are taking part in the conference. Their participation in this event is very important. All authors will make reports and presentations of their achievements. It is also an important component for Azerbaijan that the published articles of our scientists are indexed in the world's influential scientific databases, which can be assessed as investment for the future," Ibrahimov said.
