By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

An infrastructure for integration of Azerbaijan's educational institutions to the atis.edu.az education information system is being developed, a source close to the project told Trend.

This covers expanding the use of the education management platform, Unibook, in Azerbaijani universities, the source said.

To date, Unibook has been introduced in the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, the Azerbaijan Technological University in Ganja, the Mingachevir State University, the Baku Slavic University, the Baku Higher Oil School and other higher education institutions.

Negotiations are underway on the introduction of Unibook in the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, etc.

"After the infrastructure is formed, the Education Ministry will open Unibook's interface to all higher education institutions, allowing the universities to fully automate the procedure of filling in the information about students and other necessary information. The universities will have to fill in this information twice a year. This, in turn, will minimize the use of paper media," the source said.

Unibook is based on cloud infrastructure. It allows to automate the activities of universities, to keep records of attendance, to maintain electronic registries, and so on.
