By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

A laboratory for the implementation of innovative projects will be established at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture, a source close to the project told Trend.

At present, this issue is under negotiation and is under consideration by the ministry, the source noted.

"The start-ups will also be able to use the capacities of the infrastructure, which is planned to be created at the ministry. The ministry intends to implement a number of innovative projects in the field of agriculture," the source said.

One of the projects to be implemented in the laboratory is an automated system for controlling the mass of honey in hives in bee-gardens. This refers to "smart scales", which will automate calculations and obtain information about the amount of honey in the hives.

The “smart scales” will allow beekeepers to compile daily, weekly and monthly statistical data on the productivity of bees, to make timely decisions about pumping honey out of hives, etc.

An automated method for measuring changes in the weight of a hive is more accurate than manual processing of the results. The beekeepers will be able to control this process both via the Web interface and through the mobile application.
