Xinjiang Tianye, a Chinese company specializing in water-saving irrigation, has supplied drip irrigation under film mulch technology to Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Xinhua News Agency.
Drip irrigation under film mulch is a new agricultural water-saving irrigation technology, which has been extensively used in arid regions in recent years.
The technology has been applied at cotton fields, covering an area of 406.7 hectares in the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan as a modern water-saving demonstration project.
With Chinese technology, the sprouts rose in 5-6 days - about five days earlier compared to the use of traditional irrigation methods, the message said.
The plans on using the Chinese technology include expanding the area of irrigation as well as launching training for local specialists.
Xinjiang Tianye is China's largest developer and manufacturer of water-saving equipment. Since 1996, when it borrowed the drip irrigation technology from Israel, Xinjiang Tianye has developed a number of proprietary water-saving solutions and products that save 50 percent of water and 30 percent of fertilizer and increase yields by 50 percent over traditional methods, the message said.
