Baku Founder Institute to help create promising technology companies

The Founder Institute based in Silicon Valley opened a Pre-Seed startup accelerator in Azerbaijan’s Baku, Tariyel Aghazada, program manager of SUP.VC, told Trend on June 23.

“The goal of the program is to help create 20 promising technology companies in Baku,” Aghazada added.

“The Founder Institute, the world's biggest accelerator, officially announced today about the opening of a new branch in Baku,” the program manager said. “As part of this program, entrepreneurs and teams will create successful technology startups through the support of startup professionals at the early stages.”

“To date, graduates of the Founder Institute have received investments worth more than $950 million,” Aghazada said. “Each entrepreneur or team interested in creating technology startups in Baku may submit an application to the Founder Institute "Azerbaijan Virtual 2020" at: https://fi.co/apply/baku/blog

“To celebrate the opening ceremony, the Baku Founder Institute will conduct several free online startups, where participants will learn more about how to create a company and program. A full list of events is available at https://fi.co/events/baku," Aghazada said.

The program manager stressed that the upcoming event “How to Start a Global Startup in Azerbaijan in 2020” (online event)" will be held on July 24.

“Among the organizers of the Baku Founder Institute are the leaders of startup ecosystems - Jafar Najafov (founder and CEO, JOOPZY), Mammad Karim (founder, Khazar Ventures) and Vusal Karimli (managing director, SUP.VC),” Aghazada said.

Moreover, the best novice investors, founders and executives from many regions showed interest in training entrepreneurs in this program.

The preparation of the 2020 Pre-Seed accelerator program will be launched in Azerbaijan on September 8, 2020. The entrepreneurs looking for solutions for the future and working at an early stage will have such opportunities as receiving constant feedback and regular business hours from 50 of Baku’s mentors, investors and entrepreneurs; the rapid development of own startup through an approved structured process that helped graduates raise more than $950 million.

It is necessary to check the previous software package, including the Funding Lab to continue to receive expert support.
