Uzbekistan is implementing a project on creating a online geographic information center for receiving and processing of space images, Trend reports citing the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan

In particular, a pilot project - 'Monterra' - on the use of artificial intelligence technology is currently being implemented in Andijan region in order to conduct prompt and accurate assessment of agricultural lands and crops, the message said.

"The aim of this project is to use artificial intelligence technology for the needs and conditions of Andijan region and objective assessment of agricultural lands in the region," the message said.

In the course of the project, six areas were selected, which were digitized in vector format and put on the Monterra platform.

The owners of the agricultural land will now receive recommendations based on the results of the study, using satellite technology.

The Monterra online platform uses satellite technology to create photographic maps of the land and further analyze the received data.

This platform is now integrated with the Land Information system of the Committee for Land Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This project will be launched in September 2020 by creating analytical data on the area under crops in Andijan region, which will provide land owners with this up-to-date information.
