Latvian SunGIS will be engaged in the creation of a uniform cadastral system in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo News Agency.

It was made public during the visit of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia, Kadambay Sultanov to the headquarters of SunGIS company, which specializes in the widespread introduction of digital solutions in the urban management system.

During the meetings with managers, practical aspects of Uzbek-Latvian partnership in the field of digitalization were discussed.

In July 2020, SunGIS won a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia for a project on the development of geoportal in Uzbekistan.

The project provides the creation of a fully functioning version of the topographic and geospatial data portal and aims to form a unified cadaster system in Uzbekistan with online access, providing continuity of services for the construction industry during an ongoing global pandemic.

Since August 1, 2020, the company has started its work and plans to present a prototype platform by November 2020.

As a result of negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of SunGIS developers to Uzbekistan as international air travel resumes to discuss practical aspects of the project with Uzbek partners.

SunGIS company specializes in the processing of geospatial information systems (GIS), collecting important state registers (cadaster data, aerial photography, addresses, location of real estate, and communications systems, including underground, infrastructure, road signs, etc.) and creating interactive maps.
