Azerbaijan is on the list of countries in the world that focuses on the development of digitalization at the highest level, Oleg Sek, a consultant at the US International Data Corporation (IDC) in the CIS region, told Trend.
He noted that Azerbaijan adopted the National Strategy for the Development of the Information Society - one of the first among the CIS countries.
“The country's IT market is growing, according to our data, the volume of sold personal computers in the country in 2019 alone grew by 7.5 percent,” Sek added.
The expert emphasized that IDC's representative office in the CIS countries has been operating in the region since 2007, and during this time the company has established itself as a reliable partner for government agencies and the largest companies in the region.
“So, with our participation, such strategic documents as the concept of the state program ‘Digital Kazakhstan’, the concept of development of ‘smart cities’, development strategies for a number of Kazakhstani innovative and IT companies were developed,” the IDC representative noted.
“Moreover, we annually hold dozens of IT events that bring together digital leaders in the region, where the latest trends and events, market data, and industry forecasts for the coming years are discussed,” said Sek.
He stated that IDC is ready for active cooperation with Azerbaijani companies both in terms of strategic IT consulting and in organizing industry events.
